International Authors’ Day Celebration

International Authors’ Day Celebration

International Authors’ Day is a great way to show our gratitude for the authors who kept us spell bound till the last page of the books they wrote. And given the opportunity to do so, I wasn’t going to miss the opportunity.

Of many books that I have read last year, are mostly the books that I have reviewed on my blog. It was a great experience to review books of different genre and flavour, each having a different aura from the other. It just couldn’t have been possible without the support of Debdatta Dasgupta Sahay. I would really take this opportunity to express my profound gratitude to her, for giving me the opportunity to review books and helping me grow in the process.

Thank you, Debdatta for organizing this event. You can find a lot about her by clicking the following links

Jeffery Archer, Amanda Hocking, Ashwin Sangi, Stephen Mernilo, James Patterson, Amish are my favourite authors since last year and the books that I loved the most are The Guardians of Halahala, Rework, Scion Of Ikshvaku, The Curse of Brahma, The Art of Creative Thinking by Rod Judkins,  Calm by Michale Acton Smith and the Water Song Series by Amanda Hocking.

I have added to more books from a different genre altogether, my interest in the Universe and the heavenly bodies. Antimatter and Parallel Worlds, the two books are of a different dimension and the knowledge they share is splendid.

Reading has been my hobby ever since I started reading Chandamama and Champak as a kid, so to nurture and safeguard it has been my greatest endeavor. Thanks to all the authors who have done an incredible work in writing great books and for being the guardians of creative thinking. I wish you will continue to foster the new generations of writers and help them in creating a better world.

Wish to read more great books this year.

A man who has everything. A woman who remembers nothing. A love they can’t deny.

Simon never realized what was missing from his life. Wealthy, powerful and eligible - he thought he had it all. And then he met her. He fell headlong in love and surrendered himself without thinking twice, with no looking back. She was perfect and he was happy. That is, until gnawing doubts started creeping in and made him question everything he believed about her. Could his love for her survive?

Lauren knew he was the one from the start. She gave in to him without hesitation, without reservation, body and soul. He was strong and would keep her safe from her inner ghosts. But her past haunted her and her world slowly crumbled around her. Could she ever gain back his trust?

Natalie loved him with all her heart and knew that he felt the same. He was the only man who awoke in her everything she imagined love could be. She had allowed him to sweep her off her feet. But he had lied and betrayed her, hurt her so deeply. Could she ever believe him again?

Books that children should read

Books that children should read

Books are the best companion of all times and they will always be by your side. They are a treasure house of knowledge and to be very frank 26 alphabets of English are not enough to praise them. For a kid they are an excellent weapon against ignorance and lead them with utmost care and love towards a better human being.

Kids should read and inculcate knowledge from books from a very early age and the types of books they read creates their roadmap of life.

Here is a list of books a kid should

1. Dairy of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney.
2. Alice in wonderland by Lewis Carroll.
3. Moby Dick by Herman Melville.
4. A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle.
5. One thousand and one Nights.
6. Wisdom of children, Where Love is God is by Leo Tolstoy.
7. The Happy Prince and the Canterville Ghost, The Nightingale and the Rose by Oscar Wilde.
8. Panchatantra
9. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley.
10. Winnie the Pooh by A. A. Milne.
11. A little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
12. A Little Engine That Could by Watty Piper.
13. Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling
14. Julius Caesar, Macbeth by William Shakespeare.
15. Tenali Rama stories.
16. Chandamama and Champak magazine
17. The Krishna Key by Ashwin Shangi.
18. The story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf.
19. O. Henry short stories.
20. Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain.
21. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dhal.
22. Great Expectations by Charles Dickens.
23. Gulliver Travels by Jonathan Swift.
24. Jonathon Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach
25. Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison.
26. The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway.
27. Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp.
28. Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle
29. Anton Chekov short stories
30. A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.

As a kid I grew up reading all these stories and I love reading them even after 10 years. The books captured my imagination and we believed the characters as real and daydreaming. We wished that we could be in a Wonderland with all the magic happening around us. In fact we saw ourselves playing the character.

Funny and crazy ideas, these are the memories we cherish and treasure for times to come.

Decorate your life and relive it.

Decorate your life and relive it.
One of the articles that kept me hooked to the Reward me site was one article that talked about Origami. We as kids had made paper boats and rockets out of paper without any idea what is called or where it originated. For us as kids we called it paper craft. But now I have found its name and its origin, which is great to be a part the Japanese culture with which it is associated.

Origami ( 折り紙? ) is derived from two from two words “Ori” means folding and “kami” means paper, which is an art of folding paper without cutting, gluing and marking on paper. The main aim is to give paper a shape through shaping and folding.

I did some research on this and found that it has been practised since the Edo period (1603-1867). One of the earliest mentions about Origami was in a poem by Ihara Saikaku, which gives reference of a traditional butterfly design used in Shinto weddings.

There are various types of Origami

·       Action Origami

This type gives life to paper by creating flapping bird or making a person whose hands and legs moves. Really crazy stuff.

·       Modular Origami

Its main aim is to fit same identical pieces together to form a complete model.

·       Wet folding

this includes making gentle curves as opposed to folds and which makes a
shape easily.

It is really a great craft that every child comes across. It helps in nurturing creativity among the young ones, which again helps in developing their cognitive ability.

It brought back many wonderful memories, where we wished the rain on never stop so that we can continuously make paper boats and sail them across the world and silently wished it never sinks. We made it as an unsinkable ship ever! That very thought gave us many hopes and every rainy season was awesome.

Now a days we are grown up and when it rains we feel, how to reach office without getting wet or catching cold. So, much has changed since those days.

Can we ever go back to those days and relive those wonderful moments?

Thank you reward me for bringing back those moments we cherished as kids and will cherish for times to come.

Wonderful campaign!

Best of RewardMe.In

Best of RewardMe.In
Rewardme has given people the freedom to speculate and to find the best articles. And this has helped the company to improve its articles, by directly asking the critics about how they feel about Rewardme so, that they can provide even better service.

Of the many articles that have been written and shared I loved the Time Management Tips and 5 things that you shouldn’t say to kids.

The two articles are simply the best and arrests ones attention which demands to be read giving deep full insights of the world they ventured.

Speaking about what you need to say your cute ones and what not to is a challenging job and you need to be precise in your approach, to provide warm and comfort to your kids. And as a matter of fact more the kids feel free to be in touch with you, they share everything they experience from classes to boys and girls, worries, their taste in sports or painting and maybe their plans to fly out of the world into distant planets and stars. Isn’t it great for the real cute ones to dream and add laurels to their imagination? Yes, indeed it is and that is only possible when you nurture their talents and back them up with your experience, because kids don’t learn from what you say but more from your actions.

In the busy schedule and hustle bustle of life, it is easy to forget things that are close to us and things that we need to give priority to first.
It always seems that enjoying life, are things of a distant past when you are busy being busy. You are so much disconnected with the reality that virtual world is your new reality and reality is a distant horizon for you.
So, take out time for your near and dear ones and take them to an adventurous journey, where they unleash their wilderness and venture into the unknown, laugh and have fun. This is life, not the one under an electric lamp sitting all day around and hoping to increase your payroll. Life is so monotonous in that way and chances are there you are losing the best days of your life.

It’s time to break the barriers and enjoy life and to create a difference as Rewardme.in has done in posting such great articles. You can read those articles by clicking on the links given below.
